Huishoudboekje februari 2010 ¤¤¤¤ Housekeeping book Februari 2010

Goeiemorgen vanuit een zeer lawaaierig London !!! Deze nacht sliep ik in een hotel dicht bij Heathrow, en de auto's blijven hier dag en nacht onder mijn raam razen, om nog maar te zwijgen van de vliegtuigen die je hier elke minuut over hoort vliegen !!! Vandaag ga ik enkele van onze regionale kantoren bezoeken in het zuiden van London, dus ik ben wel eens benieuwd om in van die typische Engelse stadjes te komen en daar de sfeer op te snuiven. Morgen een dag op het hoofdkantoor in Heathrow, en 's avonds mag ik richting België vliegen waar ik het ganse weekend blijf !!

Ik was in augustus al begonnen met het maken van een nieuw huishoudboekje voor mijn ma voor 2010, wat een goed voornemen zeg, en zo goed op voorhand. Alleen ben ik toen niet verder gekomen dan januari en besef ik dat de tijd nu begint te dringen, wil ik het op tijd afkrijgen.

Hieronder zien jullie de pagina voor februari. Alles is zeer simpel gehouden, omdat het toch heel klein is om op te scrappen (helft van een A4 pagina) en ach, het is maar een boekje om te gebruiken en in te kladderen, en niet echt een album dat je jaren moet behouden ...

Goodmorning from a loud London !!! This night, I slept in a hotel close to Heathrow, and the cars keep on racing under my window, day and night, not to mention the airplanes that fly by in the sky every minute !!! Today I will visit some of our regional offices in the south of London, so I'm actually curious to see some of those typical English towns and seeing how live is over there. Tomorrow a day at the headoffice in Heathrow where I will stay the whole day and in the evening, I will fly to Belgium where I will stay the whole weekend !!!

In August, I had already started on a new housekeeping book for 2010 for my mum, what a good intention, and so early on the year already. Only, I didn't make it further than January and I start to notice now that time is running out, if I want to have it finished in time.

On the picture, you see the page for February. The page is very simple, because it is very small to do some scrapbooking (it's a half A4 paper) and well, it's just a little book to use and make notes in and not really an album that you will keep for years and years ...

Kerstkous ¤¤¤¤ Christmas stocking

Dit weekend druk bezig geweest van het maken van kerstkadootjes. Ik vind het altijd heel leuk om zelfgemaakte kadootjes te geven, maar kerstmis komt met rasse schreden dichterbij, als ik bekijk hoeveel werk ik nog heb, en hoe weinig ik nog thuis zal zijn om eraan te werken. Ach, ik kan alleen maar mijn best doen.

Hieronder zien jullie waar ik de laatste weken aan genaaid heb, de kerstsok, die helaas dit jaar niet meer zal afgeraken. Daarom ben ik deze middag dan ook aan een nieuw werk begonnen, nl. de afghan die ik een tijdje geleden aan jullie toonde. Als er al iets te zien is, kom ik wel opnieuw langs om jullie te tonen wat ik maakte, voorlopig kunnen jullie nog niet te veel maken van die paar kruissteekjes ...

This weekend I was busy making Christmas gifts. I always like to give those handmade gifts, but Christmas is now coming soon, and I'm getting nervous if I see how much work I have left and how little time I will be at home. Well, I can only do my best.

On the picture, you see what I have been working on the last couple of weeks, the Christmas stocking, but unfortunately it will not be finished in time. That's why I started with a new work this afternoon, being the afghan that I showed you some weeks back. When there is some more to see, I will come over and show you, but for the moment, you can't see that much with only a few stitches done ...

Nichtjes

Ik mag het zeker niet meer zeggen dat de tijd voorbij vliegt? Het is nochtans wel zo, maar ondertussen amuseer ik me wel heel erg, vooral met de vele buitenlandse collega's die ik deze week over de vloer had.

Vandaag en morgen ben ik op stap met 5 Belgen, en het was direct een bende supertoffe mensen, dus dat voelt absoluut niet als werken natuurlijk. Voor ik het weet, zal het weekend zijn, en ik ga in elk geval weer eens in het scrappen vliegen, en misschien komt er ook een collega scrappen.

Op de foto een layout die ik nog tijdens mijn verlof maakte, alweer met een foto van jaaaaaaaaaaren geleden. Zoals jullie ondertussen wel weten hou ik nogal van de "less-is-more"-stijl, en daar is dit zeker ook weer een voorbeeld van. Maar dat wil niet zeggen, dat ik dan ook heel snel scrap. Integendeel, ik kan uren naar een blad staren, om de juiste verhoudingen, vormen en accessoires te vinden ...

I don't think I'm allowed anymore to say that time is just flying by? It is like this, but in the meantime I'm having the time of my life, especially with the many foreign colleagues that I had over in Sweden this week.

Today and tomorrow I'm on the road with 5 Belgian customers, and it was instantly a great bunch of people, so this really doesn't feel like working. Before I know it, it will be weekend again, and I will do lots of scrapbooking again, and possibly a colleague from work will come over to do some scrapbooking at home with me.

On the picture another layout that I made during my holidays, again with a picture from years and years ago. As you might know by now, I really love the "less-is-more"-style, and this is again certainly an example of this. But that doesn't mean that I do my scrapbooking very fast then. Quit the opposite, I can stare at a page for hours and hours, to find the right combinations, shapes and accessoires ...

Ziezo, de week zit er alweer op, het weekend kan beginnen. Niet veel nieuws te vertellen eigenlijk. Weeral hard gewerkt, en dan vliegt de tijd voorbij, maar helaas geen tijd om te scrappen ...

Morgenochtend moet er gekuist worden in huis, want morgenavond komt er een vriend eten. En zondag ga ik er nog eens een scrapdag van maken. Het was me vorige week zo bevallen, dat ik dat beslist nog eens moet invoeren. En als ik dan tijdens de week toch geen tijd heb ... ;-))

Hieronder een kaartje dat ik maakte voor mijn pa die vorige maand jarig was. Heb ik toch wel weer die naaimachine uitgehaald zeker !!!

So, the week has finished again, the weekend can start. Not much new under the sun. I worked very hard again, the whole week, and so time is just flying away, but unfortunately no time to do something creative ...

Tomorrow morning I have to clean my house, because in the evening, I have a friend who will come over for diner. And on Sunday, I will have a scrapbooking day again. It turned out so fine last week, that I want to do that again. And because I don't have any time anymore during the week ... ;-))

On the picture a card that I made last month for my father's birthday. And yes, I have used the sewing machine again !!!

Vinden jullie het ook zo gezellig, die lange winteravonden? Ik vind het alvast super !!! Gisteren heb ik voor het eerst in lange tijd weer eens een hele dag gescrapt, van 's morgens vroeg tot 's avonds laat, en oh, wat heb ik ervan genoten !! Ik heb mijn eerste kerstkaartje gemaakt (ik ben nog nooit zo vroeg begonnen !!) en ook een winterse layout. Ik laat ze jullie ter gelegenheid wel nog eens zien.

De komende 3 avonden ben ik terug met collega's van Duitsland en Engeland en klanten van Zwitserland op stap, maar ik kijk alweer uit naar donderdagavond, en vooral ook het weekend, waar ik mij opnieuw ga uitleven met papier, stempels en lijm.

Dit kaartje hieronder maakte ik vorige maand voor de dochter van mijn beste vriendin die 7 jaar werd. Ik wou er graag nog iets kleins bijdoen, en daarom heb ik in het kaartje nog een boekenleggertje geschoven. Nu ze in het 2de studiejaar zit, en al goed kan lezen, vond ik dat ze best een boekenlegger kon gebruiken ;-)) De monstertjes vond ik goed passen voor een meisje van 7. En natuurlijk moest er ook heel wat roze in verwerkt worden, hét kleur bij uitstek voor meisjes van die leeftijd ...

Do you also find it cosy, those long winternights? I really find it great !!! Yesterday I have been scrapbooking the whole day, from early in the morning until late at night, and oh boy, I have really enjoyed it !!! I have made my first X-mas card (first time I started to early) and also a winter layout. I will show you them later on.

The next coming 3 evenings, I'm away with colleagues from UK and Germany and customers from Switzerland, but I'm already looking forward to Thursday night and also next weekend, when I will enjoy myself again with paper, stamps and glue.

The card on the pictures, I made last month for the birthday of the daughter of my best friend, who became 7 years old. I wanted to give her a little extra and therefor I have made a bookmark. Now that she is in second grade, and is reading already very good, I thought she could use a bookmark ;-)) The monsters I thought fitted well for a girl at the age of 7. And of course I had to use lots of pink, THE colour for girls aged 7 !!

The backside of the bookmark says : "I like to be squeezed between your book !!!"

Wat een week heb ik achter de rug !!! Geen enkele avond ben ik thuis geweest, alleen maar bezig geweest met het werk, en ondertussen in Duitsland, Spanje en 2x in België geweest ...

Deze ochtend ben ik vanuit Brussel teruggevlogen, en direct doorgereden naar de halfjaarlijkse scrapbookbeurs in Göteborg. Helaas was de beurs niet zo fijn als normaal. Er waren minder standen en sommigen zagen er zelfs niet echt verzorgd uit. Heel veel kerstscrapgerief, maar hoeveel kan je daar van blijven kopen natuurlijk, en weinig inspirerende dingen gezien. Na 2 uur was ik er dan ook al buiten.

De beurs was dit jaar wel in een andere hal, in een buurt die ik niet kende, dus daarom had ik besloten maar eens een wandelingetje te maken. En wat een goed idee, al zeg ik het zelf ;-)) Ik kwam terecht in een supertrendy en hippe nieuwe buurt, direct aan de haven. Er lagen heel veel oude fabrieksgebouwen die zijn opgeknapt tot supermooie en moderne appartementen, en met het uitzicht op de haven en de wijdse rivier, kon de wandeling niet meer stuk.

Dat ik dat nog moet ontdekken, nadat ik net 8 jaar in Zweden woon !!!

Omdat ik 3 weken op vakantie ben geweest, en nadien de hele week niet thuis ben geweest, roep ik morgen uit tot nationale scrapdag. Ik kijk er zo naar uit om eens te scrappen en vooral ook om mijn nieuwe stempels van In2hobby eens te gebruiken. Ik ga er morgen eens invliegen en proberen een beetje creatief te zijn, wat kijk ik er naar uit. Nu kan het scrapseizoen écht beginnen.

What a week I just had !! No single night I have been at home, I have just been busy with work day and night, and in this week, I have been in Germany, Spain and twice in Belgium ...

This morning I flew back from Brussels, and while I was in Gothenburg, I directly drove further to the scrapbooking fair that is held over there every 6 months. Unfortunately, I didn't like the fair as much as I normally do. There were much less stands and some of them even didn't look pretty. A lot of scrapbooking stuff for X-mas, but you can't keep buying this of course, and I didn't see much inspirational things. So after 2 hours I was already outside again.

The fair was this time in another place, a neighborhood I didn't know, and therefor I decided to make a walk over there. And what a good idea, even if I say so myself ;-)) I walked into a trendy and new part of town directly at the harbour. There were lots of old factories that were refurbished to new and beautiful modern appartments, and with the view on the harbour and the wide river, I had a great walk.

Who would think that I would discover something like this, after having lived already 8 years in Sweden !!!

Because I have been on holidays during 3 weeks and have not been home this week, I announce tomorrow to be a national scrapbooking day. I'm so looking forward to do some scrapbooking and mostly also use my new stamps from In2hobby. I will try to be creative tomorrow, I'm soooooo looking forward to it. Now the scrapbooking season can really start !!

De winter begint vandaag ¤¤¤¤ Winter is starting today

Vandaag start de winter ... althans bij mij ;-)) Mijn 3 weken verlof zijn sinds deze middag over, en dit betekent ook dat in Zweden nu het tuinseizoen volledig over is, en ik me helemaal op mijn "binnenactiviteiten" kan focussen. En ik vind het zalig dat in Zweden de tuinactiviteiten niet starten voor half mei, dus de komende 7 maanden heb ik weer een supertijd om fijn te scrappen, naaien, lezen, computeren, ... Dus zodoende begint vandaag de winter bij mij.

Maar naast al die fijne hobbies, zal ik de komende maanden ook hard moeten werken. Mijn hele agenda tot het einde van het jaar staat propvol. Ik ben er al direct goed ingevlogen, en deze middag ben ik naar Frankfurt gevlogen waar ik morgen een meeting heb. Morgenavond vlieg ik naar Brussel, blijf nog even in België slapen en vlieg dan dinsdagochtend door Zweden. Rond de middag hoop ik thuis te zijn, waar ik een aantal uur ga werken vooraleer ik 's avonds een 15-tal Franse collega's zal ontmoeten. Woensdag wordt een normale dag op kantoor, maar donderdag vlieg ik alweer naar Brussel en dan direkt door naar Madrid, waar ik vrijdag een meeting heb. Vrijdagavond dan weer richting Brussel, slapen bij mijn ma, en zaterdagochtend vlieg ik terug naar Göteborg. Om 11u40 land ik, en om 12u begint in het centrum een scrapbookbeurs, dus terwijl ik er toch ben, ga ik even kijken wat de nieuwe trends voor dit jaar zijn, en ga ik ideetjes opsnuiven.

Zoals je kan zien, vlieg ik er letterlijk en figuurlijk direct in, 7 keer vliegen op 7 dagen. Een stewardess doet het niet beter ;-))

Gelukkig heb ik zondag een hele dag vrij waar niets gepland is, en ik ga het meteen uitroepen tot een scrapdag. Ik kocht vorige week een aantal stempeltjes van de eigen uitgebrachte collectie van In2stamps en ik kan niet bijna niet meer wachten om ze uit te testen, ze zijn zo snoezig !!

Hier onder zien jullie een layout die ik vorige maand nog maakte. Mijn moeder in een hippiekleedje (zou een mooi motief voor een scrappapiertje zijn ;-)) en daarom wou ik graag de hele layout in diezelfde hippiestijl houden, doormiddel van de kleuren, bloemen en vlindertjes.

Today, winter is starting ... at my place, anyway ;-)) My 3 weeks of holidays have been over since this afternoon, and this also means that the gardening season in Sweden is now totally over, and now I can concentrate fully on my "inside activities". And I love the fact that the garden season in Sweden doesn't start before the middle of May, so the next 7 months I have lots of time to do some scrapbooking, cross stitching, reading, being on the computer, ... So that's the reason why winter is starting here ;-))

But next to all these great hobbies, I will also have to work very hard this coming months. My whole agenda is more than full until the end of the year. And I started really well already by flying to Frankfurt this afternoon where I will have a meeting tomorrow. Tomorrow evening, I will be flying to Brussels, sleep over there, and then I will be flying to Sweden on Tuesday morning. I hope to be home around lunchtime where I will work some hours from home, before I will meet around 15 French colleagues in the evening to have diner. Wednesday will be a normal day at the office, but on Thursday I will be flying back to Brussels and then directly further to Madrid, where I will have a meeting on Friday. Friday evening than again to Brussels, where I will sleep at my mother's place and on Saturday I will be flying to Gothenburg again. I will be landing over there at 11.40 am and at 12.oo o'clock, a scrapbooking fair starts in the center, so while I'm there, I will go and have a look to see the new trends for the coming season and see some nice ideas to make all kinds of things.

As you can see, I really fly into it, in words and reality, I have to fly 7 times in 7 days. An air hostess doesn't do it better ;-))

Fortunately, on Sunday I have a whole day, where I have not planned anything, and I will now directly announce it to be a scrapbooking day. Last week I bought some stamps from In2stamps own stamprange and I can't wait anymore to test them. They are so cute !!!

On the picture, you see a layout that I made last month. My mother in a hippie dress (would be a great pattern for a scrapbooking paper ;-)) and therefor I wanted to keep the layout in the same hippie look by means of colours, flowers and butterflies.

Afghan Nature's Home

Al geruime tijd zat ik te kwijlen toen ik bij een bepaalde Nederlandse dame op haar blog kwam, omdat ze, naar mijn mening, een mooie afghan aan het naaien was.

Onlangs kon ik me niet meer houden, en vroeg haar waar dat patroon nog te krijgen was, en ze vertelde me dat ze het naaide via een SAL (Stitch A Long).

Ik ben gisteren eens gaan kijken, en heb me maar onmiddellijk ingeschreven. Even wat rondgeneusd en ik vond er precies al direct mijn draai.

Op de foto hier onder zie je de afghan die ik ga maken. Elke maand wordt je een blokje van het patroon toegezonden en na het tonen van een foto van je vorderingen, krijg je het volgende blok toegezonden.

Volgende week ga ik terug naar Zweden, en zelfs al zal ik maar 1 avond thuis zijn, die week, je zal me in de naaiwinkel vinden, om het nodige gerief te halen, zodat ik volgend weekend kan starten. Ik kan niet wachten om dit prachtige stuk te maken. De bedoeling zou zijn om eerst de afghan te naaien, en daarna ga ik er nog patchworkboorden rond aanbrengen en quilten, zodat het iets groter wordt, en een echt dekentje wordt om gezellig onder te kruipen in de zetel, zodat ik dan alweer verder kan naaien aan het volgende handwerkje ;-))

Already quit some time, I was really slobbering when I watched the blog of a certain Dutch lady, because she was making, according to my opinion, a beautiful afghan.

Some weeks ago, I couldn't help myself and had to ask her if there was a way to get the pattern, because I also really wanted to stitch the work, and she told me she was stitching it at a SAL (Stitch A Long).

I had a look over there yesterday, and decided to enter directly. I looked around a little bit and really found my way around it quit well.

On the picture you see the afghan that I will make. Every month they send you a block of the pattern, and after showing a picture of your progress, you get a new block.

Next week, I will be going home to Sweden, and even if I will only be home one evening during that week, you will find me in my local stitching shop where I will buy the necessary things to start my work that weekend after. I can't wait to start working on this beautiful piece. The idea is to first stitch the afghan and then after this, I will put some patchwork around it and quilt it, so it will become somewhat bigger and will be a real blanket to crawl under in the soffa, with a new stitching work in my hands ;-))

Best friends

Gisteren en eergisteren zijn mijn ouders en ik er nog eens op uitgetrokken. Zondag waren we in het outletcenter in Roermond (Nederland), want ik wou nog wat kleren voor het werk hebben.

De bedoeling was dat we gisteren dan de ganse dag in de natuur zouden wandelen, maar de regen stak daar een stokje voor. We zijn dan maar naar Mönchen-Gladbach gereden om daar de stad te verkennen. Leuk om daar eens rond te lopen, maar niet echt een plaats waar je speciaal nog eens terug naartoe zou keren.

Op de terugweg zijn we nog even binnengesprongen in het outletcenter van Maasmechelen. Daar waren we nog nooit tevoren, maar zeker een aanrader, waar ik nog vaak zal teruggaan.

Vandaag en morgen voorspellen ze regen, hier in België, dus ik ga er 2 gezellige scrap-, lees-, pc- en naaidagen van maken. Ik kijk er al naar uit.

Eind augustus maakte ik nog deze layout van mijn ma, toen ze nog een heel jong meisje was, samen met haar hond. De foto is van 1968.

Yesterday and the day before, my parents and I made a little trip. At Sunday, we were at the outlet center in Roermond (the Netherlands) because I wanted to have some clothes for the work.

Then yesterday, we wanted to walk in the nature, but it was raining almost the whole day. Therefor we drove to Mönchen-Gladbach in Germany to discover the town. It was fun to have seen it, but not a place you would especially drive back to.

On the way back, we hopped into the outlet center of Maasmechelen. We had never been there before, but it was a great place, where we will be back many more times.

Today and tomorrow, they announce rainy weather here in Belgium, so I will introduce 2 cosy scrapbook-, reading-, pc- and stitchingdays. I'm already looking forward to it.

At the end of August, I made this layout from my mum, when she was still a young girl, together with her dog. It's a picture of 1968.

Tijdelijke stop van mijn HAED ¤¤¤¤ Temporary stop of my HAED

De tijd vliegt en het is alweer oktober. Maar ik loop er heel blij bij, want de fijne, donkere tijden zijn in aantocht waarbij er weer veel meer tijd is om handwerk en scrapbooking te doen. Joepie !!

Net voor ik op verlof ging, heb ik tijdelijk mijn HAED naar de kast verbannen. Ik heb er 6 maanden vlijtig aan gewerkt, maar de laatste 2 pagina's waren alleen maar blauwe kleuren, en ik denk dat dat me even de das heeft omgedaan. Ik had er eventjes genoeg van. Op de foto hier onder zien jullie tot hoever ik gekomen ben.

Opeens had ik zin om een nieuw werkje op te zetten, en ging ik op zoek naar een patroon dat ik een tijdje geleden bij Wendy (In2hobby) had gekocht.

In hieronder zie je wat ik al genaaid had. Wat was dat een plezier om opeens met al die verschillende kleurtjes te naaien. Toen ik al bezig was met naaien, zag ik eigenlijk dat ik op blauwe stof had moeten werken ipv witte, maar ik was al bezig. Vandaar dat ik het blauwe gedeelte nu ook naai, dan kan ik er lekker langer aan bezig zijn ;-))

Ik ben er zeker van dat ik over een tijdje mijn HAED weer met plezier tevoorschijn tover, maar nu mag hij eventjes rusten in de kast ...

Time is just flying away and it's already October again. But I'm very happy because the great, dark periodes are there, where there is more time for stitching and scrapbooking. Joehoe !!!

Just before I went on holidays, I have banned my HAED to the cabinet. I have worked on it constantly during 6 months, but the last 2 pages where only different shades of blue, and I guess that was what made me put it away for the moment. I just had enough of it for a moment. On the first picture you can see how far I had come.

All of a sudden, I felt like starting something new, and I searched for the pattern I bought at Wendy's (In2hobby) some months ago (see 2nd picture).

And on the 3rd picture, you can see what I have made already. How much fun to work with all those different colours, all of a sudden. When I had done quit a bit, I all of a sudden saw, that I needed to make it on blue fabric instead of white, but I had come too far. That's why I'm now also stitching the blue part, that way I can stitch even longer ;-))

I'm sure that I will take out my HAED again from the cabinet with much pleasure, but for now he may rest a bit more ...
